Melbourne day 3... Or the day that we got lost

English: So, that day we decided to go to the Rose Street Artists' Market, that's located at Rose Street of Fitzroy -the suburb- and why am I telling you this? Because we got lost for this little detail. We got to Federation Square because we wanted to do something before we went to the market, but we decided not to -I don't even remember what it was-. The thing is that we took the tram to where we thought it was the market, Fitzroy STREET. We were sure that that was the right way, oh boy, we were so wrong.

Español: Así que ese día decidimos ir al Rose Street Artists' Market, que queda en la calle Rose delsuburbio Fitzroy ¿por qué les digo esto? Bueno, porque por no estar pendiente de esos pequeños detalles nos perdimos. Resulta que ese día llegamos a Federation Square porque queríamos hacer otra cosa antes de ir al mercadito pero al final decidimos no hacerlo -ni siquiera recuerdo qué era lo que íbamos a hacer-. El punto es que tomamos el tram hasta dónde nosotros creíamos que estaba el mercadito, Fitzroy STREET. Íbamos sentaditos en el tram, confiadísimos que lo estábamos haciendo todo súper bien.

English: When we got to Fitzroy St, we checked the map app -I don't why we didn't thought of using it in the first place- and we realised that we were ON THE OTHER SIDE OF THE TOWN. We were at St. Kilda Rd -the beach- and Fitzroy was near Federation Square -Check the map: We started where it says Southbank and we got to the point A, when we were supposed to be at the B point; and we were staying at Armadale-.

Español: Cuando llegamos a Fitzroy St, colocamos la dirección del mercadito en la app de mapas (cosa que no se nos ocurrió hacer antes de subirnos al tram) y nos dimos cuenta que estábamos AL OTRO LADO DE LA CIUDAD. Estábamos por St. Kilda Rd -la playa- y el SUBURBIO Fitzroy estaba relativamente cerca de Federation Square -Chequeen el mapa: Empezamos, más o menos, por donde dice Southbank y nos fuimos al punto A, cuando se supone que deberíamos haber ido hacia el punto B; y nos estábamos quedando en Armadale-.

English: We were so frustated, but what the hell… We took another tram, to the right side of the city and after 30 minutes or a little more, we got to the market -YAY to us-. It's a market where local designers go and show their handmade creations, which are amazing. Please, go and check out the awesome things they got.

Back to the CBD -this time we make sure that it was the right one- we went to Chinatown. You can't compare it with NYC's Chinatown but it got it's charm! Besides, there's a bakery, Maxim's Cake & Pastry, where you can buy some weird type of bread and cupcakes and they're delicious and cheap -and it saved our lives a couple of times-.

Español: Después de pasar la frustración, nos subimos al tram de vuelta al otro lado de la ciudad, después de más o menos 30 minutos o un poco más de viaje, llegamos al mercadito -YAY-. Es un mercadito de diseño donde venden cosas espectaculares, desde cosas para la casa hasta accesorios hermosos, y todas son hechas a mano. Por favor, no se pierdan -como nosotros- y vayan a ver las cositas que venden.

De ahí salimos de regreso al CBD -esta vez nos aseguramos que fuera el tram y la dirección correcta- y fuimos a Chinatown. Obviamente no se compara con el Chinatown de NYC, pero tiene su encanto, además hay una pastelería, Maxim's Cake & Pastry, en la que venden unos panes y unos cupcakes BUENÍSIMOS -y a muy bien precio- que nos salvaron la vida varias veces.

English: And after spending our day lost around the city, we meet up with our cousin at the Shrine of Remembrance, which is a First World War memorial. Sadly, because it was a little late it was closed so we could't go inside, we just took a few pictures and that was it. Anyhow, we were in a hurry because my cousin were going to see the Imperial Russian Ballet Company perform The Sleeping Beauty -yes, I love ballet among other things- at the Her Majesty's Theater. Rick didn't join us, so he took tram back home, and he got lost -LOL-.

And that was our chaotic yet fun day.

Español: Y bueno, después de "perder" nuestro día perdiéndonos y comiendo, nos encontramos con mi prima en el Shrine of Remembrance. Como ya era relativamente tarde, estaba cerrado y no pudimos entrar, solo tomamos unas fotos y ya. Igual estábamos apurados porque mi prima y yo íbamos a ver a la compañía de Ballet Ruso presentar La Bella Durmiente -sí, el ballet es otra de las cosas que amo de la vida- en Her Majesty's Theater. Rick no nos acompañó, sino que se fue para la casa y en el camino de regreso se pasó una estación de tram JAJAJA, no era nuestro día definitivamente.

Les prometo que el día siguiente no fue tan caótico.
