Melbourne day 2...

English: I don't know if I told in previous posts, but we stayed a while in Melbourne because we were visiting my cousin and I wanted to spend my birthday there; so we had plenty of time to go around the city and we had the most amazing tour guides: Nuby & Jan (my cousin and her husband). We made our way out of bed -it wouldn't let us go, I swear- and we heded to the National Gallery of Victoria, which is basically an art museum. While we were in Melbourne there was a Napoleon exhibition that we wanted to go, but in the end we decided not to.

Español: No se si les dije en los posts anteriores, pero Melbourne fue la ciudad en la que pasamos más tiempo porque estábamos visitando a mi prima y además yo quería pasar mi cumpleaños allá; así que tuvimos bastante tiempo para recorrer toda la ciudad y además teníamos unos súper guías: Nuby y Jan (mi prima y su esposo). Después de nuestro atareado primer día, nos levantamos lo más temprano que el frío nos dejó y salimos a la National Gallery of Victoria, que básicamente es un museo de arte. Estuvimos allí bastante tiempo, vimos obras y más obras… En el tiempo que estuvimos allá había una exhibición de Napoleón, queríamos entrar, pero al final decidimos no hacerlo.

English: After that, we went to the Koorie Heritage Trust Cultural Centre, it's kind of a museum and a exhibition of the australian aboriginal culture. I honestly, don't know what to say about this, besides that they preserve everything that has to do with the aboriginal culture. I think I was grumpy that day -or at least in that moment- because we took the City Circle in the opposite direction, and it was kind of stressing hahaha, but whaterever...

After that, we had lunch and then we meet up with my cousin and she gave us a quick tour. We started at the General Post Office (GPO), and you'll be asking yourselves what were you guys doing at Melbourne's post office? Well, we weren't, but that's another story -very interesting by the way-. The rason we started there is because a friend of my cousin has a store over there, so we were talking to her and seeing the accesories she does, and that kind of stuff.

Thanks to Yamila's advice, we went around the Yarra River, where we wanted to take a picture and we asked some random guys and what happened next was hilarious. The guys started to take random pictures, to random people and random stuff -I think they were a bit drunk- in the end, they didn't take the picture -thank you so much random and drunk guys, you made me laugh but you still owe me my picture-

Español: Al salir de ahí fuimos al Koorie Heritage Trust Cultural Centre, es una clase museo/exhibición de la cultura aborigen de Australia. La verdad, no se qué decir acerca de este centro más allá que preservan todo lo que tenga que ver con la cultura aborigen de Australia, yo creo que estaba de mal humor ese día -o por lo menos en ese momento- porque agarramos el City Circle en la dirección que no era y fue todo un rollo jajaja, pero bueno…

Al salir de ahí, almorzamos y nos encontramos con mi prima que nos dio un tour rapidito por algunos lugares. Empezamos en el General Post Office (GPO) y ustedes se estarán preguntando que estábamos haciendo en la oficina postal de Melbourne. Pues, les cuento que no estábamos en la oficina postal de Melbourne porque el GPO es un centro comercial, que antes era la oficina postal, bueno… Eso ya es otra historia, muy interesante por cierto. La razón por la que empezamos ahí es porque una amiga de mi prima, venezolana también, tiene una tienda de accesorios espectaculares ahí, así que estuvimos un rato hablando y viendo sus accesorios.

De ahí, por recomendación de Yamila, fuimos a pasear alrededor del Yarra River, donde nos queríamos tomar una foto y le pedimos el favor a unos señores y pasó la cosa más cómica del mundo, los tipos empezaron a tomar fotos a lo loco -yo creo que porque estaban demasiado ebrios- y le tomaron fotos a gente random que pasaba por ahí, se tomaron fotos ellos y al final NO nos tomaron la foto -gracias señores ebrios, me hicieron reír pero me deben mi foto-.

English: After the hilarious "accident", we cross to Southbank through the Southbank footbridge. We walked around Southbank until we got to the Crown Casino, that's more like an entertainment complex. We wandered around the casino for a little while, we bought a cake -random stuff- and we went to the Young & Jackson Hotel, that yes, it used to be a hotel but now's a bar, a pretty cool one. 

And that's how our second day in Melbourne ended.

Español: Después del "incidente", cruzamos hacia Southbank por el Southbank footbridge, donde caminamos otro rato más hasta llegar al Crown Casino, que la verdad es más bien un complejo de entretenimiento. Entramos al casino, estuvimos un rato dando vueltas, nos comimos una torta -completamente random- y de ahí fuimos un rato al Young & Jackson Hotel, que sí, hace mucho tiempo era un hotel pero ahora es un bar que tiene varios ambientes. 

Ahí nos tomamos una cerveza y así terminó nuestro segundo día en Melbourne.
