NYC landmarks (NYC day 6)

English: This was our last touristy day in NYC, because the next day we just shopped 'til we dropped. We started the day taking the ferry to Liberty Island, from the pier that's in Battery Park. In my opinion it's better if you go first thing in the morning because it gets really crowded, especially if you go in summer. We took the second ferry and it was not bad, but when we came back the line was pretty long.

English: When you get to Liberty Island, there's a booth where you can get audio guides, that are included when you purchase the ferry ticket -once again, we used the NYCPass-. So we grabbed one each and we went around the island. Sadly, we couldn't go all the way up to the crown of the Lady Liberty because there were some restorations going on, well... Anothe time.

Fun fact -OMG! I'm turning into Ted Mosby-: The Statue of Liberty wasn't always green, it was copper but it turned green because of the oxidation. Can you imagine it? I think green suits it better.

Dato divertido -Oh no!

English: When we got back to Manhattan we relaxed a little at Battery Park and then we went to Williamsburg in Brooklyn where we had a mission: go to the Brooklyn Brewery. We hanged the for a while, grabbed something to eat, sat on a bar where Rick had the biggest beer he ever drank in his entire life and we went to the Brooklyn Brewery but we didn't make it because it was closed and we had to make a reservation to do the tour. What a bummer! From there, we walked to the Brooklyn Bridge to go back to Manhattan. Why we didn't do it the other way? Simple, the landscape it's prettier if you're going from Brooklyn to Manhattan because you can see the buildings of the Financial District getting bigger.

English: When we got to Manhattan, we went to the Rockefeller Center to go to the the observation deck, that's called Top of the Rock. It's really amazing to see NYC at night, it's so different. I think it's better to go to Top of the Rock at night so you can see the colors of the Empire State Building. We stayed there until really late. So we went back to our hostel to get some sleep and get ready for the next day.

English: Taking this photo was an odyssey. My camera was running out of battery and we were running around to find the best spot to take this photo. I didn't have a tripod, so we looked like idiots pulling the strap of the camera to make it stable. After a while, we made it! And we didn't had to pull the strap of the camera because we found a spot to put it.

See you around. XO,
M.

Besos,
M.
